![]() ![]() Skipping the Belch base entrance and things such as Tessie skip will be interesting to watch for those who have only followed the glitchless run/ Never seen a run before. I have found glitches nobody has seen/used before and turned the route into a fun category that has differentiated itself from the normal routes people see. Pros/Cons: This route was taken from an AGDQ 2013 run, and turned on its head. Incentive to do subquests to obtain rare items. Possible Donation Incentives: Naming the character. The name of the character changes a variable which determines whether certain items may or may not drop, however, this category is not as effected as any%. Pros/Cons: Glitchless run with plenty of commentary for each individual mission. The name of the character changes a variable which determines whether certain items may or may not drop. RNG has very little to do with finishing runs. ![]() RNG heavy run where probability of completing a run relies on the players ability to not play poorly. Pros/Cons: Almost all glitches used in the run are done within the first 4 minutes with very little commentary for the rest of the run. Game Name: Phantasy Star Online Episode I & IIĮnding/Bonus Estimate: 5 minutes of credits. Possible Donation Incentives: Naming characters (4) and city The 10th or 11th would be the best for scheduling the run. We’d request that the run be at least two days into the marathon at the earliest to allow all the runners to be able to practice together for what will be the first time. ![]() The run will have to be done on the Japanese version, which is much more marathon safe than the English run last year (and much faster due to a money exploit), but also means that the opening and ending themes are sung in Japanese. The run is slightly longer than single player since the bosses have more health, more enemies will spawn and there’s no Moogle to carry the chalice, but 4 players allows for much faster kills on most bosses anyway. The game has great music and can be a fun follow-up to the solo run from last year. Four player coop is relatively unique for an RPG marathon, and the four of us have great chemistry and will have plenty of friendly banter. Pros/Cons: The team will be Ghoul02, Gedrith, Kirbymastah, and me. Game Name: Final Fantasy Crystal ChroniclesĮnding/Bonus Estimate: 10 minute to show ending Possible Donation Incentives: Naming HM Slaves or Naming Rival/Starter Pokémon Pros/Cons: Will only try for a good starter once (will have a usable one prepared beforehand), all "runkillers" are early and can be played around safely, and mid to endgame is very consistent. System: GameBoy Advance (on GameBoy Player) Possible Donation Incentives: Character Voice Languages (Japanese vs English) It's also very easy for me to have stuff to talk about for the whole length of the run. Every extreme circumstance has a back up. Route as a whole is extremely consistent and very marathon safe. Pros/Cons: Lots of RNG throughout, however most bad luck can be mitigated with skill so that you're only losing so much time. This version of this game also really deserves to be made known, at the moment people seem to really be into Dragon Warrior but likely don't even know this version exists because we didn't get it here : + Dragon Warrior/Quest is reasonably popular, and this, my submission of DQ2, and DQ3 of some flavor would round out the Roto Series Trilogy and make a lovely start to a DQ block. ![]() + Looks and sounds nice, is the best version of this game hands down (well, Android/iOS is pretty sweet but also bad for a run because they fixed stuff D:) + Lacks the grind heavy qualities of its predecessor, replacing most typical grinding with interesting and somewhat risky strats (Golem walk, Dragon Loop) to gain most of the levels you need in something like 1/4 of the run's time. ![]()
